Genius Bar Question 2

Here's another question from someone.

"How long do I have to pick up a repair a the Genius Bar"?

Very good question. Typically, the Genius Admin will call to tell you that a repair is done. You should call them back as soon as you can, but they know that isn't always possible. You should make an attempt to setup an appointment within a week. My computer is such a part of me, I couldn't imagine NOT picking it up. But it happens.

The Genius Admin or a Genius will call the number left on the repair form as soon as the repair passes all it's tests. They will call again, if they don't hear from you within a week to remind you. After that, you may get another call within a week or so, but after that, it falls on you to setup the appointment and pickup your repair. If a repair sits for more than a month, you will get a call from the Admin. And if it sits for 3 months, you can expect a call from the manager asking if you still want the device.

Some stores are very good about this. Some simply don't have the staff to jump on these all the time. They may only call once or twice and then if they don't hear from you consider it abandoned and junk it after 3 months. Every effort will be made to make sure you come to pickup your repair, but after 3 months, you can expect that Apple will have a Manager attempt to call and verify that you no longer want the device in for repair and will dispose of it.

So the answer is, you have 90 days to pickup a repair at the Genius Bar. Hope that answers the question. If you have other questions, send me a note here.
